COP30 warm-up event | Innovation, Sustainability & Community in the Atlantic Forest
TEDx Ilhabela will bring together thought leaders, innovators, traditional communities, and changemakers to share transformative ideas focused on sustainable development, climate action, and social impact. Held just before COP30, this edition highlights the Atlantic Forest's role as a strategic region for Brazil’s environmental and economic regeneration.
Why Ilhabela?
Ilhabela is a unique Atlantic archipelago, where 85% of its territory is protected by a state park and recognised by UNESCO as part of the Atlantic Forest Biosphere Reserve. Home to 40,000 residents, the island faces pressing challenges, from urban expansion to socio-environmental inequality, making it a powerful stage for discussion and action.
TEDx Ilhabela connects the island’s realities with its regional neighbors, such as São Sebastião, Ubatuba, and Caraguatatuba. The event aims to spark scalable, community-based solutions and new partnerships that contribute to the bioeconomy, territorial development, and inclusive innovation.
A Stage Set in the Forest
Anfiteatro Baía dos Vermelhos, an award-winning venue in Ilhabela, will host this landmark event. Known for its exceptional acoustics and bold cultural programming, the amphitheatre accommodates 500 guests and features areas for exhibitions, brand experiences, and networking.
